Military Families: Craft and Cookies

We would like to invite all Fox Mill families with a military connection to “Craft and Cookies” on Tuesday, April 8th  from 2:00-3:00pm. Join us in our new garden by the playground for some yummy cookies and a dandelion craft.  The dandelion represents military children because they will bloom where they are planted. We will use fingerprints to decorate a dandelion print.

6th Grade Basketball Game

Bring the whole family and watch your favorite Fox Mill teachers take on Sunrise Valley in an epic basketball game for the ultimate bragging rights! Immediately following the teacher's game, the FMES 6th graders will take on the SVES 6th graders (the girls will play first, followed by the boys game). This is an annual tradition that you will not want to miss. 

Tickets are on sale now! $7/individual or $25/family (up to 6 members) if you purchase now through March 7th on Givebacks. Tickets can be purchased at the door as well ($8/individual or $30/family).

Pre-order your pizza now through March 7th and it will be ready for pick up when you get to the game! Save money and purchase our "family meal deal" of 1 large pizza + 4 drinks for $18! Only whole pizza's are available for pre-order through March 7th; pizza will be available for purchase by the slice at the game. 

Don't forget to order your spirit pack! For $8 your student will receive 2 boom sticks, 1 Pom-Pom, 2 bracelets, 2 necklaces, and a paw tattoo. They will be delivered to your student's class the week of the basketball game. We have a limited supply to be sure to place your order before they sell out!

Purchase your raffle tickets now through March 7th! Raffle tickets will NOT be available for purchase at the game as the winners will be notified prior to the event. Students in K-2nd grades will have the opportunity to compete in a race across the court dribbling a large yoga ball. Students in grades 3-5 will be challenged to run across the court, put on a high school basketball uniform and sneakers, and then run back to make a layup. The K-2 competition will take place after the teacher's game, and the 3-5 competition will take place after the girl's game.

Students in K - 3rd grade are encouraged to sign-up for the "High-Five Tunnel" and to cheer on the 6th grade players and teachers as they enter the court to take on Sunrise Valley! Wear your Fox Mill gear and bring your school spirit! Arrive by 5:30 pm, all participants must have a ticket to enter the game.

If you've ever been to the 6th grade basketball game before then you understand what a big undertaking this event is and many hands are needed to pull this event off. Please consider signing up to help make this event a success. This event is a great opportunity for your middle or high schooler to get some of those service hours they need! Fox Mill will also hold a bake sale at the basketball game (sign-up is in the SUG below) and Fox Mill receives 100% of the proceeds from the bake sale.

The Dance!

Get your groove on at the Fox Mill Dance Party!

Join us on Friday, February 21st for a night of dancing and fun!  This event is open to all Fox Mill students (no siblings) and their grown-ups. There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required

Doors open at 7:00.  Bach to Rock, Herndon, will be on site DJing in the gym and light snacks and merch will be on sale in the cafeteria (cash only).

Japanese Art Week - Volunteers Needed!

The JCC hosts Japanese Art Week every year to celebrate and share Japanese stories with the entire school. We collaborate with Mrs. Welles to find an imaginative story, design special projects, and obtain supplies. We need extra parent power to ensure that our children have a rich experience. Please read on for the volunteer links for each day of the week of January 13th, so that you can join us on your student's art day, and some around-the-house art supplies you can provide!

Books and Bingo

Bingo Pre-orders open through 12/3; Volunteers needed! 

Pre-orders are now open for our third annual Books and Bingo night! Come shop the book fair, have dinner with your friends, enjoy our celebrity teacher callers, and win amazing fun-with teacher prizes!

We need volunteers to make Books and Bingo a successful and fun evening for all!  We know it's hard to give up that time with your children, so we are offering a free bingo board for each adult shift worked!  For student volunteers, we offer service hours, pizza, and soft drinks.  Please see sign-ups here: Adult sign-up Student sign-up

Hours:

  • Book fair open after school until 6PM

  • Food truck sales begin at 5pm

  • All pre-order pickups begin at 5:30pm

  • Gym & caf open for bingo activities at 5:30pm

  • Bingo games run 6pm-8pm (with breaks for prizes & admin)

Dinner: options will include The Roaming Coyote food truck, Ben & Jerry's ice cream truck, pre-ordered Papa John's, pre-ordered Chick-fil-A, and Papa-John's by-the-slice, as well as some snacks at the event.
