2026 Japanese Art Week February 2nd-6th!

Art Week for the 2026 school year is just around the corner!

From February 2-6,  During their regularly scheduled art class, all Art Classes will have a special Japanese art lesson.

Each year, we select a theme that highlights an aspect of Japanese culture. This year, our focus is Japanese food and tableware. During Art Week, students will create their own rice bowls (chawan) while learning about the history of rice farming and fish consumption in Japan.

We’ll be using air-dry clay, making this a safe and engaging project for students of all grade levels. Each child will have the opportunity to design a unique piece while collaborating and learning together.

We would love your help! No Japanese language ability needed!

Please consider volunteering to support the students and help make this creative experience smooth and enjoyable for everyone.

Art Week Dates: February 2–6, 2026

You’re welcome to volunteer for multiple classes if your schedule allows.
