Help Needed! Volunteer for Fox Mill’s Matsuri Festival – May 16th

Dear Fox Mill Families,

We are so excited for our upcoming Matsuri Festival on Friday, May 16th, from 6:00 to 8:30 PM at Fox Mill Elementary School! It will be a fun-filled evening with Japanese games, crafts, delicious food, and exciting cultural activities for the whole family.

But to make it all happen—we need your help!

We Need Volunteers!

Even one hour of your time can help make the festival a big success. Here are the areas where we especially need adult support:

  • Craft Stations: JCC committee members are pre-making crafts, so volunteers are needed primarily to oversee the craft tables during the event.

  • Kimono Photo Ops: Committee leads and student volunteers will assist with dressing, but we need adult volunteers to supervise and help manage the flow.

  • Drink & Snack Sales: Student volunteers will handle most of the work—adults are needed to oversee.

  • Cotton Candy & Popcorn: Weather permitting, this station will be in the Art Room Center Court. Student helpers are in place; we just need adults to supervise.

Here’s everything else you need to know to join in the fun:

Wristbands

  • Required for all school-aged children, including performers.

  • Children under 4 do not need a wristband to enter, but will need one to participate in games or crafts.

  • Adults do not need wristbands but must stay with their children—this is not a drop-off event.

  • Wristbands are $8 per child or $15 per family and often sell out—please purchase ahead!

Bento Meals

  • Pre-order delicious bento boxes online.

  • Bento meals will not be available at the event, so order early to enjoy this special treat!

Food & Treat Tickets

  • All food (except bentos), drinks, and treats require pre-purchased tickets through GiveBacks.

  • No cash accepted at booths.  A limited number of tickets will be available at the door (cash only).

Raffle Tickets

  • Try your luck at winning fun, Japanese-themed prizes!

  • Raffle tickets are available online only—no sales at the event.

Craft Vendors

  • Enjoy shopping handmade crafts by local vendors.  Please bring cash if you'd like to make a purchase.
