Join the "Do It Your Way 0.5K" to raise money for the SLHS PTSA Pantry @ Lake Anne in Reston on Oct 15th!

Would you and your family like to make a difference in the community? The PTSA at South Lakes High School has been addressing food insecurity in our community since 2017 through the PTSA Pantry. It not only supports South Lakes students and families but more than 120 students and 170 families from all over our pyramid come to the Pantry every Thursday to receive food, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. Please read on for more information to find out how you can make a difference!

We invite and welcome all parents to our Japanese Cultural Committee (JCC) meetings, generally held the 2nd Thursday of each month from 9:00 am - 10:30 am in our school cafeteria.  We are excited to continue the planning process for some of our favorite Japanese cultural events like Japanese Art Week and the Matsuri festival for our students and their families.  We have a variety of ways you can volunteer to help plan and facilitate these special events.  If you're not able to attend the JCC meeting in person, consider our optional online meeting in October and please be on the lookout for future emails with updates and volunteer opportunities. What an amazing community! Thanks for a fantastic movie night!

We had a great time at our movie night last week!  Our vendor was in a car accident two hours before showtime, and we had to sub in some of our families' home AV equipment to make the movie happen; we are so thankful that spirits remained high and grownups remained patient!  Thanks to everyone who came, helped out, enjoyed themselves, and made our FMES community such a special place to be.

REMINDER | JCC Fall Family Meetup on October 6th from 5:30 – 7:00 pm

The JCC invites all Fox Mill students and families to learn how to make Onigiri (rice balls), practice their origami skills, and play fun games! We will meet in the cafeteria on a Friday evening. Families can support the organization Table for Two by sending photos of their onigiri to the web site (instructions provided). This is primarily a social event for students and parents to meet others from school. Please read on and consider volunteering!
